LAST 24 HOURS REGISTER STRONG SEISMIC ACTIVITY AROUND THE WORLD, CAUSING VICTIMS

InfoMED News Press. CDMX, Mexico.-During the last 24 hours, intense seismic activity has been recorded in various regions of the world, according to a report from the United States Geological Institute.

At least the USGS has recorded 27 earthquakes above 4 degrees of magnitude, the most affected area has been Indonesia with 12 considerable telluric movements. The strongest earthquake in the area was 7M with an epicenter 154 km from Tobelo in Indonesia, where a Tsunami Alert was issued, which minutes later was deactivated, the authorities reported a white balance.

In Iranian territory near the border with Turkey, an earthquake of Magnitude 5.8 with an epicenter 15 km from Khoy, has left 12 Iranian towns very affected. For its part, the Red Crescent estimates that at least 120 people have been seriously injured, while the Turkish government reported a white balance.

Two unusual earthquakes were recorded 96 km south of the Island of Malta, both measuring 5M, in the center of the Mediterranean, being on the part of the marine platform, there were no effects on land areas according to the report of the National Geographic Institute of Spain.

The Ministry of the Environment of El Salvador and the Seismological Service of Guatemala continue with surveillance monitoring in a large part of Central America, given the seismic swarms that have been registered in recent days. At the moment, 10 medium-intensity earthquakes have been perceived, with no reports of victims or material damage.
